DAR AL MASRAH

Our children grow up today surrounded by other languages and cultures, and their bond with their own language can weaken little by little. On our stage we encourage them to practise Arabic through story, theatre and laughter... so the theatre experience becomes a rediscovery of language and identity, and the members hold on to it more firmly.

A child stands in front of others, makes a mistake, laughs, and sees in that mistake a possibility, an invention, and then creativity. Week after week the voice rises and is heard, and the steps grow steady: on stage first, then in the classroom, then everywhere. The child becomes a confident person, proud of their abilities.

Theatre is communication in its purest form: a clear voice, an expressive body, and an idea that reaches a listening audience. In every session our children practise presenting, storytelling and working within a harmonious team. "Soft" skills that life and the job market demand, yet which are taught intensively almost only in theatre curricula.

Every scene is a problem to solve: who is this character? What do they want? And what happens next? Through improvisation and play, imagination and analytical thinking are trained together: skills no mature, successful person can do without, in every area of life.
